new places

its is so nice to find people from nelson, begin to hangout and honestly get along. we found some 'nelsonians' a few weeks ago, megan and jackson, and quickly made plans to hangout again. well us girls did ;)
our fav thing so far in perth is the city food market on a friday night (will go into this more on an up and coming post). we arranged to meet megan and jackson for tea their and it didn't disappoint! then we all ate to much ice cream and found out we did not like watermelon flavour.

with this extra day we had time to slowly explore some more places around perth.
first levi and i found a new beach which is called Point Peron.
we walked in the heat around a few tracks in short bush, the sandy cliff type edges were rough and the west facing beach had the type of waves levi loves, although the rocks which pop up out of the sand leave their mark on ya toes if ya not looking out.
we will definitely go back there.
second we went with megan and jackson to the iconic King's Park for a picnic lunch.
This was great, i loved seeing the war memorial and trees dedicated to fallen men planted by their loved ones. i was humbled by the amount of names on the walls there. Megan and i were standing at the 'we will remember' torch, which is always lit, i saw a father walk up with his two young children to have a look, he respectfully removed his cap then briefly explained to his younger generation why we remember. i was so proud to hear this and wished i had a hat to remove, instead i just stood there for a second and embraced what i had just seen and heard.
We went home via the beach for some hot chips and 'fro-yo', it was a perfect long weekend.
